HSE Montpensier Forest

This Habitation Saint-Etienne Rhum Agricole Extra Vieux Forêt de Montpensier is part of a limited edition in the Expert Cask series.
 These Rums have all been matured in very specific types of oak from forests in France.
 Forêt de Montpensier is part of the larger Forêt de l'Allier in central France and the oak of that forest is characterised by its clay and salinity which comes from the typical subsoil of the region.
 The Rum has been matured for a long time and is characterized by a deep dark color. The bottling was done at cask strength without chill filtering.
 Aroma: A powerful opening on the nose with complex woody notes of Ethiopian mocha and raisins. On the palate the aromas of spices, nutmeg and cigar box are intensely expressed, gradually giving way to a beautiful finish of cistus.
